Ultimate Auditor connects your WordPress website to Plugin Auditor so you can audit your installed plugins directly from the WordPress dashboard.

In this guide, we’ll show you how to install Ultimate Auditor, create your Plugin Auditor API key, and connect your website.

Before You Start

You’ll need:

  • Administrator access to your WordPress website
  • The Ultimate Auditor plugin installed on the site
  • A Plugin Auditor account

If you don’t already have a Plugin Auditor account, you can create one for free before connecting your website.

Step 1: Install Ultimate Auditor

From your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin. Search for Ultimate Auditor.

Click Install Now, and then click Activate once the installation is complete. After activation, a new Ultimate Auditor menu will appear in your WordPress admin.

You can also download Ultimate Auditor directly from WordPress.org and install it manually.

Step 2: Get Your Plugin Auditor API Key

Ultimate Auditor uses an API key to securely connect your WordPress site to your Plugin Auditor account.

Sign in to your Plugin Auditor account and open the API key section. Create a free Plugin Auditor account if you don’t already have one.

Step 3: Copy your API key

In your Plugin Auditor account, go to Account Settings → API Key and copy the API key.

Your API key is used to authenticate communication between your WordPress website and Plugin Auditor, so it should be treated like a password and should not be shared publicly.

Step 4: Add the API Key to Ultimate Auditor

Return to your WordPress dashboard and go to: Ultimate Auditor → Settings.

Paste your Plugin Auditor API key into the API key field and click Connect.

Ultimate Auditor will verify the key with Plugin Auditor and connect the current WordPress website to your account.

Once the connection is successful, your site is ready to use Ultimate Auditor.

Step 5: Verify Your Connection

Go to: Ultimate Auditor → Plugins

You should now see the plugins currently installed on your WordPress website.

From here, you can choose an individual plugin to scan or select multiple plugins for a bulk scan.

That’s it. Your WordPress website is now connected to Plugin Auditor.

The plugin is completely free, and registered Plugin Auditor users currently receive 30 scans per day. Scans are initiated manually, giving you control over when an audit takes place.

Run Your First Plugin Audit

To audit a plugin, open Ultimate Auditor → Plugins, find the plugin you want to check, and start the scan.

Ultimate Auditor will send the required plugin information to Plugin Auditor and display the audit results once the scan has finished.

You’ll be able to see the plugin’s score, issue counts, category results, and scan status directly inside WordPress.

For the complete analysis, use View Report to open the full report on Plugin Auditor.

Having Trouble Connecting?

If Ultimate Auditor doesn’t connect successfully:

  • Make sure you’re using the latest version of Ultimate Auditor.
  • Check that you copied the entire API key correctly, without extra spaces.
  • Generate a new API key from your Plugin Auditor account and try connecting again.
  • Make sure your website can communicate with external APIs and that a firewall or security configuration isn’t blocking the WordPress REST API.

If the problem continues, contact Plugin Auditor support and include any error message shown on the Ultimate Auditor Settings page.

What’s Next?

Once your site is connected, you can start auditing individual plugins or run bulk scans directly from your WordPress dashboard.

Open Ultimate Auditor → Plugins to run your first audit.

You can also view the complete Plugin Auditor reports whenever you need to investigate individual findings in more detail.
