Changelog

What's new in Plugin Auditor.

Every release, fix, and improvement. In order.

Feature

You can now pull a plugin's latest and any missing versions straight from WordPress.org, right in the scanner. If the version you want to scan isn't in the dropdown yet, click "Not seeing your version? Refresh" and it appears in a second, no more waiting for our daily sync to catch up.

  • Fetches the newest releases from WordPress.org on demand and adds them to the version dropdown
  • Confirms whether new versions were added or your list is already up to date.
  • Works for every WordPress.org plugin, for signed-in and guest users, with no setup
Feature Improvement

New Code & Behavior report views, 16 new checks (now 88), and a versioned scanning engine

  • New “Code” tab — see what’s actually inside the plugin. A full breakdown of the plugin’s files: file types, size, and lines of code, plus a heads-up on anything unusual, build/dev files that shouldn’t ship, symbolic links, and exposed secret or credential files.
  • New “Behavior” tab — what a plugin does to your site. Everything it adds, stores, loads, and connects to: custom post types, database tables, options, blocks, scheduled tasks, and more, each with the technical detail one click away.
  • New “History” tab — how a plugin has held up over time. Version-by-version maintenance, release cadence, and how issues have trended across past versions, so you can tell whether it’s getting safer or slipping.
  • 53 new checks — the scanner now runs 125 automated checks across all six categories. New this release: 15 Security, 31 Coding Standards, 3 Performance, 2 Compatibility, and 2 Privacy checks.
  • Plugin Comparison — put two plugins head-to-head across all six category scores and key stats, so you can pick the safer option with confidence.
  • Scanning Engine Versioning — Reports carry a scanning-engine version, so you always know the engine behind a result. Older reports are clearly flagged with a prompt to re-scan for the newest checks.
  • Cleaner report layout — Consistent card styling and shadows throughout, with Version distribution and Ratings now in their own cards.
Feature Improvement

Refreshed dashboard, recent scans & reports

  • Refreshed dashboard — a cleaner Overview with your total scans, average security score, usage, unique plugins, scan trends, and best/worst plugins. New accounts get a “Getting started” checklist to guide first steps.
  • Reports (formerly History) — browse your full scan history as cards with per-category scores and issue counts, with search and filters.
  • Profile photos — upload your own avatar, or we’ll show your Gravatar automatically.
  • Lots of responsive polish across the app.
